In 2013, Mr Chips was purchased by Balle Bros, a family-owned business who began farming in 1949 and have been growing premium quality produce ever since. We have a unique story to tell, being owned by a grower supplying more than 85% of the potato grown on our own farms in Pukekohe, Waikato, Hawkes Bay and Canterbury for Mr Chips to process into the premium products you see today. Our “Field to Fork” solution means we have full control of the product which is supplied from our farms to your plate!
While retaining our core Mr Chips uncoated products under the Mr Chips Brand, we also offer our Premium Coated and Skin-On products under our Balle Farms brand.
Over 50 years ago, Mr Chips began as a small manufacturer of frozen potato chips, and quickly became an iconic brand that would be recognised for years to come.
Consumers remember the experience they have had with our brand at sports events or from their local takeaway on a Friday night. We have continued to supply both New Zealanders and people from all over the world with delicious crunchy golden chips, wedges and of course the most delicious range of kumara (sweet potato) chips.
Today, Mr Chips is a leading potato processor which continues to produce top-quality frozen products and keeps people asking, “Please give me some Mr Chips chips, Mister!”
Over 50 years ago, Mr Chips began as a small manufacturer. Here at Mr Chips we are committed to have New Zealand’s (and the worlds!) absolute favourite chips, and this can only be done by using the utmost highest quality product and manufacturing processes.
All of Mr Chips and Balle Farms premium A - grade chips are made from 100% New Zealand grown Kumara from farms located in Kaipara and Pukekohe and all around New Zealand. We then use rigorous quality controls and procedures to ensure A-grade products are consistently produced.
All of this of course makes the most tastiest chips!
